Nature of Damage

  • Caterpillars feed on leaves and defoliate the plant (Fig. 1 & 2). 
  • The caterpillars gather in a cluster on the stem of the plants during hot hours of day. 
  • They become active at night, and feed on leaves, defoliate the tree quickly and again gather on the trunk (Fig. 3).
