Nature of Damage
The grubs and beetles of shot hole borer attack the inner side of tree trunk, branches and the succulent tertiary branches at the internode area of auxiliary bud and base of petioles (Fig. 1 to 3).
The pest makes numerous tunnels and pin holes on the tree trunk, branches and twigs (Fig. 4 & 5), which led to drying of leaves.
The infested branches had symptoms like “Dieback” disease (Fig. 6)
