Symptoms

  • It is characterized by numerous small pinkish to reddish brown conspicuous spots with whitish centers on mature leaves (Plate 1 to 4). 
  • Under favourable environmental conditions, the disease cause drying of leaves and premature defoliation of complete leaf biomass. 
  • The diseased leaves appeared as barren look to the branches, which results in reduction of fruit yield.
  • These spots appear more often during October-December.
  • The young developing leaves are devoid of infection. Generally, infection occurs in nursery as well as on grown up trees.
  • The disease is known to affect all the commercial varieties with varying degrees of intensity.
