Symptoms

  • The initial symptoms of this disease are as appearance of dark brown scars on fruit surface, which progress slowly. It leads to fast ripening and fungal growth on fruit surface (Plate 1). 
  • The infected fruits start leaking black substance giving out an offensive smell (Plate 2).
  • This disease is very sporadic and spread under congenial weather conditions
