Management

• Scraping of the loose bark to prevent oviposition by adult beetles.
• Pruning and destruction of the infested plant parts along with grubs.
• Mechanical removal of the grubs from the infested trunk holes by using iron hook.
• Maintain field sanitation in orchard as preventive measure.
• The adult beetle can be killed by thrusting a stiff or metallic “T” shaped wire into the hole or tunnel. If it is deep inside the wood, the hole is plugged with cotton wool dipped in kerosene and thereafter plastered with wet mud
