Symptoms
It is characterized by numerous small pinkish to reddish brown conspicuous spots with whitish centers on mature leaves (Plate 1 to 4).
Under favourable environmental conditions, the disease cause drying of leaves and premature defoliation of complete leaf biomass.
The diseased leaves appeared as barren look to the branches, which results in reduction of fruit yield.
These spots appear more often during October-December.
The young developing leaves are devoid of infection. Generally, infection occurs in nursery as well as on grown up trees.
The disease is known to affect all the commercial varieties with varying degrees of intensity.
