Management

  • Provide appropriate irrigation as per recommendation.
  • Avoid water stagnation in orchard during monsoon season.
  • Improve drainage system in orchard.
  • Basin or mud around infected tree trunk Infected tree should be loosened.
  • Remove affected branches.
  • Add organic matter in the soil every year. Add caster cake, groundnut cake, mustard cake or neem seed cake to encourage beneficial soil microbial activity.
  • Application of bio-agent, Trichoderma viridae along with irrigation is also suggested .
  • Two sprays of either carbendazim 10 g or zineb 0.2% or mancozeb 20 g or any copper.
  • Soil application (Drenching) of carbendazim 20 g/20 lit along with 200 g urea after loosening the soil around tree trunk is suggested. It should be repeated three times at 20-25 days interval. 
  • Apply recommend fungicide at initial stage of disease appearance and take guidance from scientific community before application of any pesticides.
