Trichoderma Mycoparacitsm

Trichoderma spp.
-----------------

Kingdom: Fungi
Division: Ascomycota
Subdivision: Pezizomycotina
Class: Sordariomycetes
Order: Hypocreales
Family: Hypocreaceae
Genus: Trichoderma
Species: harzianum and viride
The major biocontrol mechanisms are as follows:

• Antibiosis - inhibiting the growth of one organism by another organism as a result of secretion of antibiotics.

• Nutrition competition- competition between the pathogen and microorganism for the uptake of nutrients like carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and others.

• Cell wall degradation- degrading the cell wall of pathogens by secreting some cell wall degrading enzymes like chitinase, xylanase etc.,

• Mycoparasitism - the parasitism of one fungus by the other fungus by the hyphal interactions.

• Seed Treatment -4-6g/1kg seed.
2.5kg/ha for soil application.
