Wheat requires a well pulverized but compact seedbed for good and uniform germination. In case of irrigated wheat, pre-sowing irrigation should be given after harvesting of the kharif crop and field should be prepared at Vapsa conditions by carrying out two ploughing followed by one harrowing and planking. Stubbles, rootlets, weeds etc are removed from the field and three blades harrowing should be done.
