Harvest maturity

1. Harvesting maturity generally occurs seven days after physiological maturity.
2. The important processes during this period is loss of moisture form the plants.
3. The general symptoms of harvest-maturity are yellowing of leaves, drying of grains or pods.
4. Crop is harvested at physiological maturity when there is need to vacate the field for sowing another crop.
5. Under all other situations, it is advisable to follow harvest – maturity.
