Nursery management
SRI is most successful alternative of traditional transplanting. Only 5 kg of rice seeds and 250 sq m. area required for one hectare. Prepare beds with mixing of soil and cow dung/FYM, rice hull/ burned husk forming 1.5 to 2 cm thick layer at the top.


Planting Management
8 to 10 days old seedling are used and transplant within 15-30 minutes. Square planting of 25 x 25 cm at one seedling/hill is transplanted.

Nutrient Management
Use chemical fertilizer by 25% and remaining 75 % through organic (15-20 kg of Bio fertilizers + FYM/Neem cake/ Compost @ 10-15 t/ha or Green manuring).

Water Management
Keep moist(No flooding) condition by adopting alternate wetting and drying method of irrigation.


Weed Management
Moving the cono weeder in both the directions to bury the weeds and aerate the soil at 7-10 days interval after 10-15 DAT.


More paddy for less water
Advantages of SRI technology are increase the yield, water saving by 50 %, saving other inputs like Seed, fertilizer, pesticides and labour, mature earlier by 7-10 days, no lodging, improve soil health, less problems of pest and diseases.
