The first person to use the word “WEED" in the present day meaning was Jethro Tull (1731). Subsequently several definitions were proposed as listed below;
1. A weed is a plant growing where it is not wanted.
2. Weed is an unwanted plant.
3. A plant out of place or a plant with negative value.
4. A plant that is extremely noxious, useless, unwanted or poisonous.
5. Any plant or vegetation interfering with the requirements of human.
6. Weeds are plants that thrive best in an environment disturbed by man.
