Indus Valley Civilization ( 3250 BC – 2750 BC)
1. In 1992 archeologist started excavations
2. The discovered Mohenjodara ( meaning a mound of dead) in sind
3. And Harappa in the bank of river Ravi in Punjab.
4. Civilization flourished for more than five thousand years ago.
5. People utilized the pots, utensils and ornaments.
6. River Indus and hence this civilization is known as Indus valley civilization.
7. Also known as Harappan culture from Delhi to Gujarat.
8. Ploughing was used for proper sowing of crop.
9. Ox-drawn wheel cart was used for transport.
10. The people cultivated wheat, Barley, Gram, peas, Sesamum and rape.
11. They domesticated buffalo, cattle camel, horse, elephant, ass and birds.
12. The most remarkable discovery in Harappa is the Great Granary used for storing food grain.
