1. Prepare land by puddling after enough rainfall or irrigation.
2. Take 50 kg seeds/ha for fine seeded varieties and 60 kg seeds/ha for bold seeded varieties.
3. Soak the seeds in 50-60 litres of water into a container and keep it for 24 hours.
4. Change the water at six hour interval, if possible
5. Give seed treatment of Streptocycline @ 3g + Amisan (6 %) 1 g/kg of seeds during last six hours and stir the treated water with sticks at 2 hours interval.
6. After above treatment, keep the seeds in wet gunny bag tightly.
7. Seeds will start sprouting after 12 hours.
8. Use these sprouted seeds for sowing/broadcasting uniformly in the puddled field.
9. Before sowing, give seed treatment of Azospirillum and phosphobectaria culture.
10. Keep the land wet till the seedlings established. Remove excess water during this period.
11. Gap filling should be done after 20-22 days, if necessary by uprooting of extra plants from the same field where density of plants population is higher.
12. Control weeds by spraying Benthiocarb or Butachlor @ 1 to 1.25 kg a.i./ha or Pendimethalin 1.5 kg /ha after 8-10 days in 500 litres of water.
