Nature of damage:

Both the nymphs and adults suck the cell sap from the lower surface of the leaves, flower buds and tender shoots.
Plant remains stunted.
They excrete honey dew, which drop on the leaves on which black sooty mould develops and blacken leaf surface interferes with the photosynthetic activity of the plant.

Management :
-------------

Spraying the crop with phosphamidon 45 % - 0.03% @ 5 ml or dimethoate 30 % EC – 0.03% @ 10 ml or methyl-o-demeton 25% EC – 0.025% @ 10 ml or imidacloprid 17.8% SL – 0.0050% @ 2.8 ml or thiomethoxam 25% WG – 0.0075% @ 3.0 ml or acetamaprid 20 SP – 0.004% @ 2.0 gm.
